Jurgen has a level of service I wasn't quite prepared for. I emailed a request for info late on a Sunday in October. Jurgen called me less than a couple hours later. He answered my questions on amounts and types. I ordered and actually took delivery on a miserable rainy day in central Toronto in November. The wood was understandably wet and dirty - I wasn't so sure how that would play out once it was dry but at the time, suddenly the $200 he charged to stack it about 100 feet away around the back of my house suddenly felt like a good investment. He came himself with another team member. They were very friendly and efficient and the two face cords I ordered are stacked really well. As they were leaving Jurgern gave me my "account" number so I could use that going forward. The dried wood is great - barely notice any dirt (it's firewood!) and there's something very comforting about looking out my kitchen door to my beautifully stacked wood under the partial deck roof. Yes, the website is static and emails and payment method seem almost old school these days. What is also "old school" is Jurgen's and his team's level of customer service. I'll take that over tech any day. It's been 2.5 weeks; I received a phone call from Jurgen today just wanting to know that I was happy with how the wood dried out and if I was enjoying my fires... I found The Firewood Factory because my referred me. I'd absolutely recommend them too.
Thanks Jurgen. I’m going to enjoy a nice warm fire tonight and for many nights to come. Pickup was great - Jurgen helped and we filled my trunk with enough to last me for a while. I’m local to Newmarket and will absolutely buy from you again. Photos show a rack of wood that qualifies as a trunk load before and after.
I simply cannot say enough about the quality of service from Jurgen as well as the outstanding product he provides. He has been my family’s only firewood supplier for years now and the seasoned hardwood he curates for us burns so well and for so long we’ll never go anywhere else.
I hope your fireplace is the size of a garage, biggest pieces of wood I've ever seen, no care to split them to manageable sizes. Expensive for no reason, go somewhere else.
A great experience dealing with Jurgen at the Firewood Factory. I live in the core at Bloor & Bay and after checking all sellers online in and around Toronto, I decided to get my cord of wood at The Firewood Factory. Jurgen did not disappoint. Made an appointment, he was there when I showed up and helped me load up my Tiguan with a face cord of mixed hardwoods. The guy communicated, was there when I showed up and the wood I bought was as advertised. Wasn't the cheapest price but based on all parameters, was a fair price. Cheapest price isn't always the best purchase. I am totally satisfied with this purchase. Will be back next year for sure!
Firewood was ok. He has a strange system that is all manual and asks for your number. He was a odd duck and found his prices higher than others by 30% and not sure if is work the difference.
